It was a weekend trip to the beach with a twist. We needed to bring home a lawn tractor for some repair and we needed to haul the family. Forget the regular ole family car–we needed a set of wheels that could meet the challenge.
Enter the Chevrolet Suburban. While it’s among the biggest and least fuel efficient of all SUVs, it’s also E85 capable–and with E85 clocking in about 50 cents a gallon cheaper than gasoline, that takes a serious bite out of the fuel pump sticker shock.
So we loaded up: beach chairs, luggage, snacks, music, movies, ramps and trailer. How do you think this big boy did on fuel mileage hauling a trailer the whole way? Check out our review of the 2007 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 4WD and our photo gallery of the 2007 Suburban flex-fuel, showing all the details of our weekend trip.
